Trey has been in the field of insurance regulation for 20+ years. Prior to joining ER in 2023, Trey worked with UnitedHealthcare as Associate General Counsel and Director of Regulatory Affairs where he provided legal counsel to the South Atlantic CEOs and executives and ensured overall enterprise compliance for the SE region. He also has extensive work experience with the Georgia Department of Insurance. He managed the Division of Insurance and Financial Oversight which consisted of all areas including financial examination, market regulation, financial analysis, life and health financial analysis and administrative supervision and receivership. In addition, Trey spent part of his career in private practice at the law firm of Locke Lord, LLP, where he served as outside counsel to healthcare and other insurance clients as a member of the Regulatory and Transactional Practice Group.
As Director for ER, Trey will provide legal guidance for troubled company administration, liquidation, and receiverships. Trey earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Juris Doctor from Georgia State University. He is a State Bar of Georgia member and a member of the American Bar Association. Trey is a licensed attorney and works and resides near Atlanta, GA.
