Brent worked for more than 20 years for Taylor-Walker Consulting, LLC prior to its acquisition by ER in 2024. He obtained the FCAS designation in 2007 and has held the title of Senior Consulting Actuary since 2013. As part of this role, he has served as the lead actuary in numerous financial examinations of property and casualty insurers, with a focus on assessing reasonableness of the reserving and pricing functions, determining the potential need for premium deficiency reserves, and evaluating reinsurance contracts for sufficient risk transfer. In addition, he is qualified to derive percentile distributions associated with either reserve ranges or loss projections, among other common actuarial tasks.
Brent graduated from the University of Utah in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, an emphasis in Statistics, and a minor in English. He works out of ER’s South Jordan, Utah office.
