Miryam Ramirez has 10+ years’ experience in the insurance industry with extensive experience in insurance regulatory compliance issues. Miryam has acted as Senior Examiner on risk-focused Market Conduct examinations and is currently acting as the Examination Supervisor for Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund exposure examinations.
Miryam has participated in several multi-state examinations. She has covered all lines of business including Property and Casualty, Workers’ Compensation, Individual and Group Health. Additionally, Miryam has experience in Federal Projects – Center for Insurance Information and Oversight (CCIIO) and the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF).
Miryam has served as Senior Policy Advisor and Acting Deputy Director over the Consumer Outreach and Protection Division at the Illinois Department of Insurance; the Division responsible for overseeing The Market Conduct Unit.
Miryam earned her B.A. in Social Sciences from Northeastern Illinois University and a M.A. in Adult Education from DePaul University. She is a member of the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (IRES).
