Prior to joining ER in 2019, Mark was the Division Director of Insurance & Financial Oversight with the Georgia Office of Insurance. Mark has 25 years of experience working as an insurance regulator beginning with eight years as an examiner and field supervisor with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation followed by seventeen years with the Georgia Department of Insurance in the positions of Chief Examiner, Deputy Division Director and Division Director.
Before his regulatory career, Mark began his career as an auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick in Jacksonville, Florida. Mark has experience with all types of insurance entities including life, health, title, property & casualty and captives insurers.
Mark’s regulatory experience includes insurer licensing, financial and market conduct examinations, financial and market analysis, troubled company administration, liquidation and receiverships.
As Director for ER, Mark’s main duties include financial analysis, financial examinations, receiverships and special projects. Mark obtained his BBA and MBA from the University of North Florida. Mark holds the following designations: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Examiner (CFE), Advance Market Conduct Management (AMCM) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE – Fraud). Mark currently serves as a Board member of Society of Financial Examiners (SOFE). Mark resides and works in Atlanta, Georgia.
